Wood is the element in Traditonal Chinese Medicine linked with Spring – the energetic season that runs from February 5th to April 17th.
The Wood element is also connected to the liver and gallbladder (which have a critical role in digestion).
The PHYTO5 Wood skincare products have been created for the aesthetic conditions related to a lack of or, more frequently, an excess of oil in the skin (so the connection with the liver and gallbladder is clear) – oily skin, blackheads, hyperpigmentation (sometimes called liver spots), oily scalp and hair. Energy circulation is also promoted for the whole body.
A seasonal Spring treatment for face, body, hair or scalp uses the PHYTO 5 5 Element Wood range which is clarifying and energising and uses natural essentials oils such as rosemary, lemon, cypress, and ingredients such as plankton extract, green clay (mineralises, absorbs toxins, and anti-inflamatory and disinfectant properties), vitamins C and E, avocado oil, wheat germ oil and jojoba oil.
As well as treating specific skin conditions, the aim of the PHYTO5 seasonal treatments is to maintain the body in harmony with the various climatic and energetic influences of the seasons and keep the skin ‘balanced’ throughout the year.
Spring is all about new beginnings and awakenings – cleansing, clearing out the old and making way for renewal and rejuvenation. And it’s a safe time to detox as this is when the relevant organs have the energetic properties to support the cleansing process rather than straining them (as happens in the West when people mistakenly detox as part of January 1st New Year regime).
